Central financial assistance for eligible residential rooftop solar installations through the National Portal, subject to current scheme, capacity and DISCOM conditions.
PM-Surya Ghar supports eligible grid-connected rooftop solar systems in the residential sector through central financial assistance (CFA). The July 2025 residential CFA guidelines specify support for installations linked to a residential power connection of the local distribution utility on a roof, terrace, balcony or elevated structure, subject to scheme and DISCOM conditions. CFA is not provided under this component for non-residential consumers or third-party-funded RESCO/utility-led models. The scheme guidelines state an implementation period through 31 March 2027; that date does not establish whether applications are currently being accepted or funds are available for a particular applicant.
Scheme status: active. Application window: unknown.
Guidelines state implementation through 2027-03-31, but the current intake/window and funds were not independently confirmed.
For standard states/UTs, the guideline's effective rate is ₹30,000 per kWp for the first 2 kWp (or part) and ₹18,000 per additional kWp up to 3 kWp; no additional CFA is specified beyond 3 kWp. Special-category states/UTs have rates of ₹33,000 and ₹19,800 per kWp respectively. Final assistance is subject to eligible installation capacity, actual benchmark cost and portal/DISCOM verification.
Up to ₹78,000 in standard states/UTs or ₹85,800 in special-category states/UTs for an eligible 3 kWp-or-larger system; capacity above 3 kWp receives no additional CFA under this component (One-time after installation, DISCOM inspection and portal approval)
Eligible CFA systems must be grid-connected rooftop installations linked to a residential utility connection; capex-mode and exclusions
